Activities to find out about being chair bound and limb loss.

Instructions

Chair bound
Beavers sit in a circle on chairs.
Leader in the middle sat on a chair.
Leader throws the ball to each Beaver in turn and they need to throw it back.
If ball goes past Beaver, another YL or leader must fetch it.
Talk about how it's difficult when you can't get up from your chair.

Put a coat on the floor just out of reach - have a few and Beavers take turns to use a grabber to pick it up and put it on.

Limb loss
Give each Beaver a pencil and put a piece of paper on the floor in front of them. They are to take off shoes and socks and write their name with their feet. This is how people with no arms sometimes write. They can type this way too.
